Background:

1,000 years prior to the story, Dr. Dunstan created two robots. The red-haired boy was Ultimo. He was created to be the Ultimate Good, in contrast to his 'brother' Vice, who was the Ultimate Evil. His creator, prior to committing honorable suicide, proclaimed that the two equally powerful robots would awaken at the dawn of mankind's final war.

Vice and Ultimo, upon awakening a thousand years later, quarrel endlessly over right and wrong. Vice is always trying to provoke Ultimo into attacking people or fighting with him, but Ultimo gently refuses and is always smiling. He praises his brother when he displays his power, but feels bad in having to discipline him, and even 'break' him, tearing off one of Vice's arms. Ultimo knows his brother is evil but loves him all the same, pleading with Vice to stop fighting so the poor boy doesn't have to destroy him. Vice summons a shockwave-blasting drum to kill the group of humans witnessing their battle, and to prevent it, Ultimo transforms his feet into rocket engines and blasts them into space at the speed of sound. Some time later, Ultimo is found in the snowy hills of a mountain, but instead woke up in inside Infinity.

After arriving, Ultimo actually crashed into the pavement, leaving a crater. He was found by Ahiru, who befriended him. Soon after that, Ultimo was worrying about all the people around Infinity that had a lot of bad intentions. A girl named Jane Maxwell accosts Ultimo for being so trusting of people, saying that people will take advantage of his kindness. This is Ultimo's closest friend around Infinity; they get along extremely well, though Jane often gets embarrassed by his kindness. After a discussion about friendship, Jane tels him that being alone is a terrible feeling; he promises that he'll be there for her, so she won't have to be alone ever again. He has continued to fulfill that promise.

During the appearance of the Dark Hour, Ultimo and Jane teamed up to fight off Shadows, but Ultimo ended up taking her flying around Tartarus, by turning his feet into jets. After the Dark Hour was over, the two shared a quiet moment alone under the stars...

I'd say they're pretty much an item now, though Ultimo really has no idea what he ought to do in the relationship. Luckily, Jane is there to teach him the ways of being human.
