Shiraishi Kuranosuke is the captain of Shitenhouji's tennis team, and a fairly laid-back guy.  His playing style is called "perfect tennis," and while it may be an effective form of playing, Shiraishi thinks it's incredibly dull and tedious.   Shiraishi's left arm is always wrapped in bandages, and he uses it to scare the overactive Kintarou (Kintarou thinks that he has a poisonous hand).  No one is really sure why he has these bandages, but mun believes they're there because of some injury.  Shiraishi seems to say is "ECSTASY!" a few times during the series, which means...well, I'm not really sure what he means by it, but he says it very passionately.  Perhaps the tennis court represents his ecstasy. 

He also is one of the few characters who isn't a douche or a prima donna.  It seems like Shiraishi has a fairly level head on his shoulders, and he's definitely a great captain to his team.  His teammates have a lot of respect for him and on a whole, Shitenhouji is like one big family. 

He also apparently has a thing for Tezuka Kunimitsu.

Valentine's Day: Shiraishi showed up at Tezuka's house and made dinner for the both of them.  They also made out :|
